Volttic — Privacy Policy
Effective October 20, 2026
Volttic is a work tool. It is given to heating, ventilation and air-conditioning technicians by the company that employs or contracts them, and it exists to record what happened on a service visit without anyone having to type it on site.
This policy explains what the app collects, why, and who it goes to. It is written by Volttic, which operates this service.
Who controls your information
Almost everything in the app belongs to your employer, not to us. Work orders, equipment records, photos, notes and call recordings are that company's business records. We hold and process them on its behalf. If you want a record changed or removed, your employer decides — ask them first, and see Deleting your account for what we can do directly.
What the app collects
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your name and email address | When your account is created | To sign you in and to show colleagues who did what |
| Photos and video you take | Only when you tap the camera or pick a photo | Attached to a job, an equipment record, or a question about a manual |
| Audio of what you say | While the voice assistant is listening, or while you record a voice memo | Turned into text so the job record writes itself |
| Audio and video of calls | During a call with a remote expert | So the two of you can see and hear each other. Calls may be recorded — see below |
| Your location | Only at the moment you tap to check in to a job | So the office can see which site a visit happened at |
| What you write | Job notes, close-out narratives, chat messages | These are the job record |
| A random device identifier | First launch | To route a call to the right phone. It is generated by the app and is not your device's name or advertising id |
Location is never collected in the background
The app asks for location only while you are using it, and only reads it when you tap to check in. It does not track your movements, it does not collect location while it is closed, and it has no background location permission.
Call recording
A call with a remote expert may be recorded, including your microphone and camera. When a call is being recorded this is shown in the app, and the recording is stored as a record belonging to your employer. Laws in some places require everyone on a call to agree to being recorded; your employer is responsible for having that agreement in place.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not use it for advertising, and the app contains no advertising.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not use your information to train general-purpose AI models.
- We do not read your photo library. The app can only see photos you explicitly choose in the system picker.
Who else sees it
The app sends information to a small number of service providers, each for one job and each bound to use it only for that job:
| Provider | What it receives | For |
|---|---|---|
| Clerk | Your name, email and sign-in activity | Signing you in |
| Supabase | Job records, photos, recordings | The database and file storage behind the app |
| LiveKit | Call audio and video | Connecting and recording calls |
| OpenAI | What you say and type to the assistant, and photos you show it | Answering, and writing the job record |
| Deepgram | Voice memo audio | Transcribing it to text |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety or rights of people using the service.
How long it is kept
Job records, photos and recordings are your employer's business records and are kept for as long as that company keeps them. Sign-in information is kept while your account exists. When your employer removes you, your access ends immediately.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app, under Settings → Account. Deleting it removes your sign-in, your name and your email address, and signs you out everywhere.
It does not delete the work you recorded. Job records, photos, notes and call recordings stay with your employer as its business records, with your name replaced by "removed user". This is deliberate: a service history that loses its visits is not a service history. If you want those records deleted too, your employer has to ask us.
Security
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit, call media is encrypted between participants, and your sign-in credentials are held in the iOS Keychain on your device. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise.
Children
Volttic is a tool for working technicians. It is not designed for or directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see what we hold about you, to correct it, to get a copy, or to have it deleted. Because most of it belongs to your employer, the fastest route is to ask them. You can also write to us at tomi@spectacleai.app and we will help, or tell you who to ask.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and say so in the app before the change takes effect.
